MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Queen Mary’s Carpet. DESCRIPTION: Queen Mary’s carpet has now been removed from the Victoria and Albert Museum and packed in a special steel lined oak chest (together with photographs of Queen Mary herself) for transport across the Atlantic. SHOTLIST: KS. SCU WVS officer sewing label on carpet. Police unclipping carpet from hanging position on wall. Police fold carpet up. Police place carpet in chest. Portrait placed inside case of Queen Mary. Police carry case out & put inside van. Mix to Southampton. Chest being swung aboard "Queen Mary". SCU & GV of same. GV of "Queen Mary" tied up alongside quay.
