Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Somaliland Handed Back to Italians. DESCRIPTION: After ten years of British Administration in what was formerly Italian Somaliland, the Union Jack has been hauled down. In the capital, Mogadishu, a military ceremony marked the handing back of the territory to the Italians who are to administer it under United Nations supervision. SHOTLIST: KS. LS harbour & buildings in background. Union Jack flies over Government House at Mogadishu. Various street scenes, natives sit around centre of street, no traffic at all. Parade ground, British troops march on. Italian troops march on face one another. Locals look on. Union Jack being lowered. Italian flag being raised. GVs street scenes.
