MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HMS Ark Royal Lives Again. DESCRIPTION: At Birkenhead, Her Majesty, recently launched the new aircraft-carrier Ark Royal. It is the fourth Ark Royal, the first fought against the Spaniards in the Armada and the third Ark Royal was the vessel sunk so many times by Lord Haw-Haw. SHOTLIST: Several shots of the old "Ark Royal" during the war also her sinking, starting to. Queen arrives crowds cheer, Queen mounts platform. Aircraft carrier "Illustrious" fully dressed crew lining flight deck. Sermon held before launching, crowds singing. Queen christens new carrier "Ark Royal". Bottle smashes, "Ark Royal" begins to move. Launch out camera, cut-in of workmen cheering. Crowds watch from "Illustrious" & opposite bank. "Ark Royal" in water. Queen watches, also looks out from office at carrier beginning to be towed away.
