MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: South Africa Honours Smuts. DESCRIPTION: In the skyscraper city of Johannesburg, South Africans paid great honour to Field Marshal Smuts on the occasion of his 80th birthday. SHOTLIST: Several shots of city. Troops parade through streets. CU Smuts. Regiment leading was Transvaal Scottish. Field Marshal Smuts smiling. At City Hall, large cake which was the platform, crowded streets cheer the Field Marshal. Freedom of the City presented to Smuts.
