MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ramsgate Welcomes Princess Margaret. DESCRIPTION: Ramsgate was en fete for the first visit paid to the Borough by Princess Margaret. One of the principle items in an extensive programme was the inspection of Ramsgate’s post-war housing estate. SHOTLIST: Princess Margaret receives cheers from crowds lining streets. Inspects housing estate. Speaking (silent) to inhabitants of new houses. On platform, Princess Margaret addresses the crowds on the housing. She plants a tree to commemorate her visit. GV Princess. Cuts tape and names street "Princess Margaret Avenue".
