Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Middleweight Champ Retains Title & Farr’s Comeback. DESCRIPTION: Jake La Motta defended his World Middleweight title at Detroit against the Frenchman Laurent Dauthuille. La Motta, losing on points, knocked out Dauthuille with thirteen seconds to spare in the 15th round. At Brighton, Tommy Farr trains for his come-back fight against the Dutch champion, Jan Klein in a ten round affair at Pontypridd. SHOTLIST: KS. Couple boxing in ring. At Detroit, Jake La Motta defends his title against Dauthille, the Frenchman. Various shots of the fight shows the Frenchman getting the better & piling up points. Cut-in of audience. Seconds attend to La Motta before fifteenth round. Motta & Dauthuille shake before start of round & the former really lets loose, eventually knocking Dauthuille out. Same being counted out. (60 seconds). At Brighton, Farr hitting punch bag. Doing physical jerks. Lifting weights, skipping, hitting punch bag. CU Farr to finish. (37 seconds).
