MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Prime Minister’s American Mission. DESCRIPTION: President Truman was at Washington Airport to greet Mr Attlee. The Prime Minister was in America for talks about the Korean crisis. SHOTLIST: KS. Stratocruiser taxies in. Waiting on airfield, Mr Truman, Mr Acheson & Sir Oliver Franks (British Ambassador). LS planes taxiing. GV Attlee alights greeted by Truman. SCU Truman, Attlee & Franks. Attlee walks off aerodrome. SCU Attlee addresses newspaper reporters & cameramen at aerodrome, on the reason for his visit. At the White House, interior - group shot, Truman, Acheson, Marshall & Attlee. At the National Press Club, a luncheon, elevated GV of gathering. MS Attlee addressing the gathering & SCU of him. Cut-ins of audience. Elevated GV of them rising to feet & applauding at the end. Attlee said "wherever the Stars & Stripes flies in Korea you will always find the Union Jack by its side".
