- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Scorched Earth at Hungnam. DESCRIPTION: As United Nations forces prepare to evacuate the Hungnam beach-head, equipment, stores and buildings which might prove useful to the enemy. Flour and oatmeal are distributed to civilians in the area before the final departure. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Tank in air, midway between quay & ship. Artillerymen manning their guns, in background the harbour. MS & SCU troops embarking aboard LCI craft. SCU feet walking over watery beach onto gangway on LCI craft. Train loads of oil drums etc. being smashed & run off tracks. GV big ammunition dump exploding. GV chimney stack being demolished. Several shots of troops aboard LCI on way out to transport. GV fleet lying in harbour. Lorry load flour (bags of) being distributed to Koreans, Koreans fighting for same, several shots. Children fight for flour, shots of inhabitants struggling away with bags of flour, out of camera.
