- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Coronation Stone Stolen. DESCRIPTION: A Christmas Day sensation at Westminster Abbey - the Stone of Destiny (which had been there for some 600 years) was stolen from the Coronation Chair. Opinion among a representative group of people in Glasgow varies widely. Also in Glasgow is a replica of the stone. Rumour, of-course, was very busy, and one was that it had been dumped in the Serpentine in London. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV Westminster Abbey - very good. Several shots of the Coronation Chair with stone on same. SCU of the torn chair with stone missing. Broken woodwork. SCU carved initials JFS. MS & SCU High altar. MS cleric walks past high altar. MS Poets’ Corner. MS forced door. CU forced lock on door. Van moves away from gates in Palace Yard. In Scotland, interior - group of Scots. SCU one voicing his opinion about the stealing of the stone. CU mike, voice giving his opinion anonymously. Glasgow - tarpaulin lifted from replica of Coronation Stone. Car stopped on road, police look inside same. Police dragging Serpentine. Lifting out a safe, safe being dumped on bank. Cut-in crowds looking over bridge.
