- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Helicopters for Merchant Navy. DESCRIPTION: From the Fleet Supply Ship Fort Duquesne, a helicopter recently carried out tests in the English Channel. The idea is that ships of the Merchant Navy may be equipped with hover machines for rescue work, submarine spotting and general convoy protection. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Shot of deck of ship, shot into the light. GV helicopter battened down to deck of Fort Duquesne. Ditto escorted by destroyer in rear. Pilot climbs aboard helicopter, takes off from stern off ship, a net is placed on the deck space from which it takes off. In helicopter view of ship from same. Comes into land. Landing on deck taken from ship. Cut-ins men standing around just below the landing deck, standing on the netting.
