Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Atom Exercises. DESCRIPTION: For Britain’s first big post-war civil defence exercise, a large number of troops moved into Bristol to aid Civil Defence workers. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Elevated GV ruins with wardens, workers, etc. running about. Troops lined up on bridge, in rain. GV helicopter hovering about to land. MS helicopter after landing. Colonel Gough in uniform - SCU. Troops & Civil Defence workers clearing rubbish, digging out wounded etc. Rendering first aid to injured, carrying away on stretcher, another stretcher along cable. Snowing hard. Firemen fighting imaginary fires, playing hose-pipes on same.
