It was won by England for the first time since before the war. SHOTLIST: 8 teams competed in 38th cross-country race. Heavy going across country. Saunders, Aaron and Hesketh lead on the racecourse. Shots of runners going over the local Becher’s Brook some falling in. The winner Geoff Saunders who beat Dr Aaron of Leeds.
