- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Salvador Earthquake. DESCRIPTION: The most violent and disastrous earthquake in the history of Central America’s smallest republic, Salvador, resulted in tragic loss of life. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Mayor surrounded by crowds walk into camera. Various shots showing the terrible damage, buildings razed to the ground, large cracks in roadways, trees uprooted, etc. Casualties, carried off on stretchers. Searching among debris. Hospital centre with lines of stretchers on ground floor. Refugees clamber aboard lorries, parents pull the children aboard.
