Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Off to Cyprus (Paratroopers). DESCRIPTION: Some three thousand officers and men of the 16th Independent Parachute Brigade Group - leaving Portsmouth on about a year’s special duty overseas. They were sailing for Cyprus in light fleet carriers berthed a short distance away from HMS Victory. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Trucking shot of paratroops marching along street - SCU. Ditto. (16th Independent Parachute Brigade Group). Entering dockyard, MS Victory GV Triumph & paratroopers alongside. Embarking, elevated position. Aboard carrier on flight deck, chat with sailors (silent). Mascot pony with group of paratroopers, also jumping about.
