- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Soccer - England V France. DESCRIPTION: There were about sixty thousand at Highbury to watch the first International of the season. A Gift goal in the early part of the first half saved England from their first home defeat by a foreign team, for France scored twice before Medley scored for England to draw level. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Toss-up. Crowd shots - very good. Elevated GV kick-off. England attack, & score through misunderstanding of French players. Ball rolls into net. France attack & equalise through Doye. France still attack. Alpsteg scores. Cut-ins crowds. Medley scores for England. General play in second half. Milburn nearly scores as ball passes across front of goal.
