- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Churchill Returns to Downing Street. DESCRIPTION: Cabinet-making has absorbed Mr Churchill’s attention since the General Election returned him to power again as Prime Minister. At his home in Hyde Park Gate there has been a great deal of coming and going. In due course, Mr Churchill leaves for the new Government’s first Cabinet Meeting in Downing Street. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. SCU No 10 on door, and door closing. Hyde Park Gate. Churchill walks round car & enters his house. Typewriters etc. being carried in. Mrs Churchill enters. Randolph Churchill stands at door waiting for it to open, enters. RA Butler at door. Sir Walter Monckton at door, enters. Mr Churchill leaves Hyde Park Gate, into car & drives out of camera. Crowds in Downing Street, Mr Churchill through dense crowd to No 10. Mr Eden arrives, towards camera. Harold Macmillan arrives, waves to crowds. Captain Crookshank arrives. Lord Ismay arrives, Lord Woolton out of car, & enters. Waves to crowd. Majority of Ministers arriving were wearing Bowler hats.
