Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Storm Damage. DESCRIPTION: The gales that followed the Christmas holiday have been doing tremendous damage all round Britain. The pier at Seaview, Isle of Wight, is one example of the havoc, and two cottages at Sandgate were undermined by the sea and collapsed. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV of sea (taken at sea). GV wrecked pier at Seaview, IOW., panning shot. MS gaps in seawall at Dymchurch. Troops filling breach in with stones. Eastbourne - GV car on front & sea breaking over esplanade & car. Several shots of front & sea breaking over. Sandgate - remains of wrecked cottages, fronts completely out. Various shots of sea breaking over the front & over broken seawalls. GV of rough seas on coast.
