- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Prime Minister Off to America. DESCRIPTION: After many difficulties and hold-ups, the Queen Mary left Southampton with Mr Churchill on board, also in the party to accompany him to the United States were Field Marshal Slim, Mr Gifford, the American Ambassador, and Mr Eden. SHOTLIST: Cut Story - KS. SCU Queen Mary’s funnel. CU Field Marshal Sir William Slim - in uniform. CU Mr Gifford, panning to Mrs Gifford. Luggage being carried towards train. Mr Eden amid crowd. Night - Mr Churchill alights from car, with his wife, walks through station to train (Waterloo Station). Train pulls out. Train pulls into Southampton. Alights from train, Mr Churchill & Mr Eden, walk through sheds. Captain of QM greets Mr Churchill, SCU Churchill walking. SCU Mr Eden speaking about US & England relations, good luck to all, etc. Night shot - Queen Mary lit up. . Several shots of Queen Mary, shows tugs trying to free her port anchor. Taken away gangway. Ropes being taken off bollards. Tugs moving the liner. MS Queen Mary sailing out of camera to finish.
