- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: America Welcomes Mr Churchill. DESCRIPTION: As the Queen Mary approached New York, the first welcome accorded to Mr Churchill was from those aboard the Coastguard Cutter that went down to meet the liner. His daughter Sarah was one of them and soon the whole party were in the cutter on their way to land. At a Press reception shortly afterwards, Mr Churchill explained the aims of his visit. From New York, the Premier flew to Washington, where he was greeted by Mr Truman. SHOTLIST: Cut story -KS. Queen Mary GV at sea. Queen Mary shots of her with coastguard cutter approaching.
