- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Troops Extend Canal Zone Control. DESCRIPTION: The round-up of Egyptian police in the village of El Hamada was necessitated by police resistance to a search of this trouble spot - yet another outbreak of violence occurred, with attacks by Egyptian terrorists near the French convent. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Elevated GV Ismailia town. Several shots rounding-up of prisoners, including Egyptian police. Prisoners in screened lorries, taken away. GV Elevated of Ismailia. British troops in town, setting up barbed wire, troops firing from sandbag positions. Centurian tanks pass through streets. Troops in grounds of convent, Sister Anthony (a nun) lies in state. Various shots of troops in town, with Egyptians passing through barbed-wire barriers singly.
