Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: (The Heat Wave). St John’s Ambulance Review - Hyde Park. DESCRIPTION: It was during the heat-wave that the big parade of the St John’s Ambulance Brigade was held in London’s Hyde Park. At the march-past, the salute was taken by the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Leslie Boyce. Londoners at leisure, on the other hand, used the park for keeping cool. Some rested in the shade, others swam in the Serpentine Lido. It was just the right weather for Paris models to show off the latest in beach-wear. SHOTLIST: Cut story - GV Hyde Park. Various shots of parade. Marchpast by members. Address given. GV crowds watching. Lord Mayor of London, Sir Leslie Boyce took the salute. Various shots in park of people sun-bathing, relaxing, etc. Swimming & playing around in the Serpentine. In Paris, various bathing fashion displays, one girl wears a swim costume in printed paper.
