Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Olympics - Great Britain’s Gold Medal. DESCRIPTION: Great Britain’s outstanding triumph at Helsinki came just before the end. Colonel Llewellyn and his famous mount, Foxhunter, were the heroes of the day. After a bad first round, they finally rose to the occasion and with faultless jumping, clinched victory for Great Britain as a team in the Grand Prix des Nations. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Olympic sign. Various shots of the jumping competition, Farmer White jumping, also Colonel Llewellyn on Foxhunter. Crowds standing, Union Flag being hoisted, National Anthem being played. GV stadium, Olympic flame extinguished. Olympic flag removed, & marched off stadium.
