Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Johnson Wins Empire Title. DESCRIPTION: At Melbourne - a terrific scrap for the Empire Lightweight title between the Australian champion, Frank Flannery and Frank Johnson of Manchester. The Englishman sent Flannery to the floor several times and finally got their verdict when the referee stopped the contest. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS boxing ring. Various shots of match between Frank Flannery (striped shorts) & Frank Johnson of Manchester. Flannery knocked down, in fact he is knocked down several times, almost out. Flannery exhausted on canvas. Latter end over Australian commentator’s voice. Referee stops fight, Johnson the winner. Flannery being picked up from canvas. CU Johnson to finish.
