Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Ascot - Hunt Cup & Gold Cup. DESCRIPTION: It was raining on Hunt Cup Day when Her Majesty the Queen saw her horse Choir Boy win the big event, ridden by Doug Smith. The weather improved greatly for Gold Cup Day and the main event included a strong French challenge. Monsieur Boussac’s Aram looked like winning, when Souepi for Britain made a strong bid and just succeeded in getting his nose in front at the finish. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU Coat of Arms on top of Ascot Golden Gates. People arrive in pouring rain. Queen Elizabeth walks to paddock. Queen Mother shelters from rain. Queen chats with Doug Smith in paddock. Starting post. Start. Horses out of camera. Elevated GV of race. Choir Boy (Queen’s horse) comes through & wins. Cut-ins of Royal Box, Queen happy. Queen with Boyd Rochfort, trainer. At starting gate. Royal party on roof at Ascot. Aram & Le Flamand led most of way. Coming up straight to finish, Souepi comes through & wins, passing winning post. Cut-in royal box watching race, includes Queen Elizabeth, Duke of Edinburgh, Duchess of Kent, Duke & Duchess of Gloucester.
