Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Records Broken at AAA Meeting. DESCRIPTION: On the first day of the two-day meeting at White City, Gordon Pirie set up a new world record for the six mile event. The next day he broke the Championship record for the three miles. The one mile was won by Bannister in the fast time of 4 minutes 5.2. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS of crowds at White city, . looking through field glasses. GV of arena. Gordon Pirie starts on 6 mile race. Pirie leads overlapping other runners, finish of race in record time. Next day, Pirie again, start of 3 mile. Pirie running and finishing first. 1 mile race. Start, Bannister well to fore. Takes lead and wins. Cut-ins of crowds, etc.
