MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Prelude to Farnborough. DESCRIPTION: NEVILLE DUKE’S AIR SPEED RECORD. Squadron Leader Neville Duke, flying a Hawker Hunter jet fighter from Tangmere, has set up a new world air-speed record - subject, of course, to official confirmation. His wife watched from the beach, as he flew low above the sea off the Sussex coast. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Hawker Hunter in flight. Duke in cockpit, puts on helmet. Hawker Hunter takes off. Inside control room checking speeds. Outside official keeps aircraft in range. Hawker Hunter over sea. Various shots at speed. Cut-ins Mrs Neville Duke watching. Hawker Hunter comes in to land. Duke out of cockpit. CU & SCU with his wife smiling.
