- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas Gifts for Sick Children. DESCRIPTION: A clear sign of the approach of Christmas is the arrival at offices of The Evening News of toys for sick children. Lady Bowater, London’s Lady Mayoress, was there with Evening News Editor Mr John Marshall, seeing for herself the annual organisation of gifts for children. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Mail bags of parcels. Toys (old) being sorted, repainted, mended etc. Lady Bowater (Lady Mayoress) with Mr John Marshall walk round looking at toys. MS toys, parcelled up, labelled St Bartholomew’s Hospital, mix to child in bed at hospital, taken toys out of cellophane bag, shots of several children doing likewise.
