MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Anniversary Celebrations. Colomb Bechar. DESCRIPTION: In Algeria - some 300 miles south of Oran - a celebration was recently held to mark the 50th birthday of the town of Colomb Bechar. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS ceremony. Algerian visitors on camels. Mr Roger Leonard, General Governor of Algeria and Mr Hutin, General Secretary of Protectorate walk to Memorial to Marshal Lyautey, founder of the town. This memorial is unveiled to mark 50th birthday of Colomb Bechar. Cut-in native Guard of Honour. Various views of ceremony. A baroud held for personalities present. This is a rifle dance. Natives playing weird instruments. Firing rifles in dance etc.
