MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Liner Raised. DESCRIPTION: The Canadian Pacific Liner Empress of Canada has been raised in Gladstone Dock, Liverpool where she sank more than a year ago. The salvage operations were to cost £380,000. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Sunken liner. Various shots of the Empress of Canada lying on her side in Gladstone Dock. Shots of winches with heavy cables taking the strain of the ship. Various shots of cables and winches working. Ship gradually rights itself. Shots of workmen looking on. Salvage cost £380,000.
