Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Aintree - New Circuit’s First Race. DESCRIPTION: One of the big events of the first meeting at the Aintree racing track was the Formula Libre event, which was won by Stirling Moss in a 2 1/2 Litre Maserati. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Earl Howe officially opens the first meeting. Shots of race in progress. Rain pouring down. Peter Collins takes lead, then Ken Wharton pulls up to him. Ron Flockhart well placed. The race was eventually won by Stirling Moss in a Maserati. Moss with trophy.
