- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Zatopek’s Record. DESCRIPTION: In Paris at the Colombes Stadium a 5,000 metres event in which the amazing Czech runner Emil Zatopek competed. Winning easily in 13 minutes 57.2 seconds he broke the world record. SHOTLIST: Cut story - At Colombes Stadium, race in progress. Zatopek running. Very soon he is lapping the field. Zatopek goes on to win race in 13 mins 57.2 sec, beating the world record held by Gunder Hagg in 1942.
