DESCRIPTION: At Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, a Rocket Sledge has been built to develop safety devices for pilots who have to bale out at supersonic speeds. The first live passenger is Colonel John Stapp who travels down the runway at over 400 miles an hour. SHOTLIST: Cut story - At Holloman Air Base mechanics get equipment ready for test. Lieutenant Colonel John Stapp is strapped into chair. LS desert. Chair on rocket runners going at terrific speed. CU shots of Colonel Stapp’s face during test. Twisting into all shapes.
