Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trooping the Colour - 1954. DESCRIPTION: Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret drove to Horse Guards Parade with Prince Charles and Princess Anne. Her Majesty rode to the ceremony accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Gloucester. The Escort to the Colour, this year, was provided by the first Battalion the Coldstream Guards. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. CU of Standard to be trooped. Open Landau leaves Buckingham Palace. Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, Prince Charles & Princess Anne. Through Horse Guards Parade. Cut-ins of crowds. Queen on horseback leaves Palace (uniform of the Coldstream Guards), Duke of Edinburgh (uniform of Welsh Guards), Duke of Gloucester (uniform Scots Guards). All three make way up the Mall. Good shots. SCU Queen entering Horse Guards. Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, at window with Prince Charles & Princess Anne who are both saluting. CU officer shouting orders. Present Arms. Queen salutes. Cut ins. Royal children saluting. Queen inspects Guard. Elevated shots. Bands counter-marching. Colour being handed over. CU of the ceremony. Officer shouts out orders. Troops to attention. Officer ‘Escort to the Colour etc’ trooping the colour through the ranks. Troops marching. ‘Eyes right’ - marching etc. Officers in charge addresses the Queen. Queen leads parade off Horse Guards. Good shots of band into camera and troops down Mall. Queen takes salute from Palace gates. Royal Family on balcony. Including Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra, Princess Royal, Duchess of Gloucester. Air Force jets fly over Palace in salute. Royal family on balcony.
