Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Scottish Winter Aftermath. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Aerial shots of John O’Groats Hotel and surrounding countryside, and a low level shot of the Castle of Mey (Queen Mother’s residence). Train level shots of the resulting flooding. Now a private car (Ford Pilot) negotiates a by-road which is still covered with snow (high drifts either side). CU man clearing the remnants of the snow from the by-road. GV crane with a huge mechanical shovel attached is clearing a high drift. Then a GV men digging a series of trenches in a drift preparatory to a large Mac snow plough operating.
