- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Leopardstown Races & Grand National Publicity (Conference of the Newsreels on the Course). DESCRIPTION: Some of the Grand National entries were on view recently during the running of the Leopardstown Chase. Copp was the winner of the thousand pound prize. Other favourites have been on view during training. At Aintree, itself, Mrs Topham inspects the modifications to some of the fences. SHOTLIST: The grandstand at Leopardstown racecourse where the crowds are seen watching the big race. In the paddock famous horses seen parading. Royal Tan, Sundew and Copp. Then the finish of the big race. GV. Shots of other horses. Arthur Thompson with Goosander. Shot of Tudor Line. Mrs Topham supervising alterations at Becher’s Brook. Slip Pan. A GV of a conference in the open at the racecourse of all the newsreels, in preparation for the Grand National coverage. The camera pans round and our cuts are almost entirely of our own men. Mr Ramsden, P Wyand, D Stiles, K Hanshaw, M Gray & D Samuelson. Then a shot showing the cars all in a line with the cameras fixed on top about to rehearse a run round the course. The cars moving off. (All newsreel cars appear).
