- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: FA Cup Final - Manchester City V Newcastle United 1-3. DESCRIPTION: Manchester City and Newcastle United battle for the coveted trophy before 100,000 people at Wembley. SHOTLIST: Vast crowds arriving at Wembley. Newcastle supporters sing own signature tune. City fans counter signature tune. Glimpse of United’s dressing room. The Queen with the Duke and Princess Margaret are there to watch the big match. Teams come out. City wearing track suits. Duke steps onto field and first, Roy Paul presents the City team. Jimmy Scoular presents United’s team. Paul and Scoular shake. Mr Leafe, the referee blows whistle. Don Revie kicks off. Very early in the game City were forced to concede a corner. Len White took the kick and Jackie Milburn headed through. Newcastle one up in less that a minute. After some twenty minutes Jimmy Meadows (City right back) was injured. Helped off the field, a tragedy for Manchester. Now only ten men for the rest of the match. Nearly half time and a raid from Manchester, a high center from Joe Hayes, and headed in by Bobby Johnstone. One all at half time. In less than minutes after half time, Bobby Mitchell took a very nice pass and beat Bert Trautmann from a sharp angle. Mitchell plays ball and gives opening for George Hannah to get a goal. Meadows watches his team go down. Goalkeeper Ronnie Simpson on his toes. Queen presents the cup to Jimmy Scoular of Newcastle. Jimmy Scoular speaks.
