Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Queen Opens London Airport Buildings. DESCRIPTION: The new building at London Airport, has just been officially opened, by Her Majesty the Queen, who was received by Lord Latham and Mr John Boyd-Carpenter. SHOTLIST: GV new buildings including control tower. SCU Queen arrives with Duke and is greeted by Mr Boyd-Carpenter and Lord Latham. CU Queen presented with bouquet by Boyd-Carpenter’s daughter. LS they go onto rostrum. CU in sound Queen makes inauguration speech. CU she unveils plaque commemorating her visit. CU they walk round with Boyd-Carpenter looking at nursery where children are playing. LS control tower. L to R pan along reception building and onto tarmac where planes are warming up.
