Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cyprus Outrage. DESCRIPTION: Metaxes Square, Nicosia and a surprise swoop by men of the 3rd Parachute Battalion, searching for concealed weapons. The day before, two Royal Air Force men were brutally murdered and one seriously wounded by terrorists. Just before the outrage, supplies of food were being loaded at the Royal Air Force base for an air lift to mountain villages cut off by snow drifts. SHOTLIST: GV Square. Men being searched with their arms up. Boarded ‘Onassagoras’ street. Ambulance drives off. Boarded up shop. Corpse. Army guard. Dog (alsatian) pulls policeman into shop. Various shots of food drop.
