Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rain Mars First Test. DESCRIPTION: The Notts County Cricket ground at Trent Bridge and the first Test. Cricket fans were not deterred by the showery weather. Peter May won the toss from Ian Johnson and it was pads on for the English openers. SHOTLIST: George Parr’s tree (Lion of the North). CU plaque on tree. Stands. Queue outside the ground. Peter May wins toss from Ian Johnson. Richardson and Colin Cowdrey come out, rain starts. Out again after rain stops. Ray Lindwall to Richardson. Lindwall leaves field with leg injury. Then Alan Davidson falls and is carried from field. Peter May takes guard with Richardson. More rain.
