Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Pompeii. DESCRIPTION: The ancient town of Pompeii was completely obliterated by the great eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Buried twenty feet deep beneath a mass of cinders and ashes, about half of the town has been uncovered in modern times. Among recent discoveries was the figure of a man spread-eagled face downward, now a statue of stone. SHOTLIST: TPS over the dig at Pompeii. Various shots of the ruined buildings.
