Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Duke of Edinburgh’s Tour. DESCRIPTION: Calling at Gambia towards the end of his round the world tour, the Duke visited many villages and was warmly greeted everywhere. The people said it with music and they said it with dancing, expressing their pleasure in no uncertain manner. In Bathurst, a highlight was the parade of the piccaninnies. SHOTLIST: Shots of Gambian men saluting the Duke by firing their rifles. Duke greeting various people in the villages. Natives performing music and dancing etc. Bathurst - Various shots of the children (pickaninnies) marching past the Duke.
