MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Preparations for Malayan Independence. DESCRIPTION: All the major buildings in Kuala Lumpur have been given a face-lift before the celebrations marking the Independence of the Federation of Malaya. It will be proclaimed on August 31st in the magnificent new stadium. Parades and sporting events are to follow the formal ceremonies which will spotlight Malaya as the world’s newest Independent country. SHOTLIST: MLS of building with scaffolding around.
