- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: English Thunderbird Rocket. DESCRIPTION: In production for both the Army and the Royal Air Force, and is one of the most effective weapon systems in our current pattern of defence. Above the guided weapons range at Woomera, the Thunderbird casts off its Booster Motors before continuing a trial flight to intercept a target. Going in search of it’s quarry, a Jindivik target plane, which flies at about 500 miles an hour. SHOTLIST: GS rocket on launcher. GS rocket launched, then boosters fall away. GS rocket in flight. GS Jindivik target aircraft. Shots of rocket & target plane colliding, shots of impact and wreckage falling.
