- Summary
- New Zealanders were out in full force in Dunedin, to give the Queen Mother a splendid welcome on her visit to the city. At the Grand Hotel, she was welcomed by the Mayor. Earlier, near Wellington, the Queen Mother presented prizes at a race meeting. Another of her engagements in Wellington was a visit to the babies’ hospital. This hospital has a particular interest for the Queen Mother, because she herself opened it 31 years ago, when she was Duchess of York.
