MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Diesel Loco. DESCRIPTION: A demonstration run from London to Bristol: the new two-thousand horse power Diesel Hydraulic Loco. A special coach next to the engine was used on this trip to demonstrate and record speed and performance. The plan is the replacement of steam by diesel traction on the Western Region, giving greater economy, cleanliness and speed. SHOTLIST: CU driver in cab. Back shot same. MS instrument panels in special coach. CU gauges. MS same. MS train passing camera at speed.
