- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ghana Anniversary. DESCRIPTION: A large proportion of Accra’s population recently gathered near Parliament House. It was a big occasion in the capital of Ghana. The Governor General, Lord Listowel, arrived to take his place, also there was the Prime Minister’s wife Mrs Nkrumah. The occasion was the unveiling (by the Chief Justice) of a statue of the Premier. It’s just a year ago since the Colony of the Gold Coast became independent. SHOTLIST: LS crowds outside Parliament House. Types seated in crowd. LS Governor General arrives (Lord Listowel).
