- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Queen at St Paul’s. DESCRIPTION: The Queen and Prince Philip arrived to attend a special service at St Paul’s Cathedral, preceded by the Lord Mayor of London. The Princess Royal, the Duchess of Gloucester, the Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Princess Alice were also present. Her Majesty handed the Dean the gift of a Fair Linen Cloth to be placed upon the Altar (which replaces the one destroyed by a bomb in 1940). The Cathedral’s new High Altar was consecrated at this service, and the blessing was pronounced by the Archbishop of Canterbury. SHOTLIST: GV St Paul’s. Queen and Duke of Edinburgh enter cathedral.
