- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: State Reception for Italian President. DESCRIPTION: At Victoria Station, London, the Queen and Prince Philip welcomed the President of Italy and his wife. The Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary were presented to Signor Gronchi. After other presentations, the Queen and the President walked from the station and presently Signor Gronchi proceeded to the inspection of the Guard of Honour. Now, hosts and guests leave on the drive through the capital, along a crowded Whitehall, the gaily decorated Mall, to Buckingham Palace. Signor Gronchi is the first Italian Head of State to pay a State visit to Britain for thirty four years. He brings the goodwill of his country with him on this three day visit of real importance to both nations. SHOTLIST: CU Queen, Gronchi, Selwyn Lloyd arrive. MS Same.
