- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Air Record. DESCRIPTION: Britain’s new Comet IV, arrived at Hatfield after a non-stop flight from New York, the fastest-ever crossing of the Atlantic: six hours, sixteen minutes. This beat the time set by a Britannia in January by almost an hour and a half. At the controls was de Havilland’s famous test pilot, Group Captain John Cunningham. SHOTLIST: Flying shot of Comet IV.
