Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: London V Warsaw. DESCRIPTION: The women’s 80 metre hurdles was one event at the White City, London. Carole Quinton (number one) was the winner in eleven point four. If London failed to beat Warsaw in the men’s contest, they did register some notable wins. One example was Radford (number two), who took the hundred yards with a time of nine point eight. The Mile was the big event of the meeting, and Herb Elliott, the Australian wonder runner (number seven) won as expected. Last month he set the world’s record in Dublin: in London, he won easily, only nine tenths of a second outside that record. SHOTLIST: GV racing shot. Pan of women’s hurdle race. CU winner Quinton (Great Britain). MS men’s 100 yards. CU winner Radford (GB). MS start of mile. GV race. MS Elliott, Hewson racing. BS same. GV Elliott in lead. MS finish. CU Elliott.
